CAPE TOWN, July 2 (ANA) – Five suspected bank robbers were arrested in Kenya on Friday as they attempted to drill through the bank wall from an attached business in the same building.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Kenya stated that Charles Mulo, Fredrick Muderwa, Jesse Muriuki, Gabriel Mungai and Reuben Njuka were arrested in the early hours of Friday morning just before executing their plan.

The suspects were apprehended at Angle House in a guest room adjacent to Prime Bank in Kenya’s capital Nairobi following a tip-off.

“They had planned to drill their way into the bank in the dead of the night. However detectives got wind of the plan and spoilt their party! They stormed into the building with a thud, forcing the thugs to scamper, taking cover in the ceiling like cornered rats,” DCI Kenya wrote on Twitter.

“Detectives however brought the ceiling down, exposing the five who clung on the roof trusses for dear life,” DCI Kenya continued.

The suspects surrendered with their equipment needed to execute the elaborate heist and were taken to Kamukunji police station, where they await their court appearance.

However, it’s the theatrical narrative by DCI Kenya’s Twitter admin that has captured Kenyans on social media.

“The reporting is on another level, but kudos to the reforms nowadays we get updated,” a Twitter user commented.

“Give your admin a pay rise,” another said.

“I like the flow of the story. Man the descriptions you provide it’s like watching a movie tho good job…,” another Twitter user said.
