The Oyo State Police Command has arrested a 27-year-old housewife, Odunayo Olumale, who stabbed her husband, Olamilekan Salahudeen, to death for making sexual advances towards her.

Parading the suspect at the command’s headquarters in Ibadan, the spokesman, Adewale Osifeso, said the suspect who had earlier separated from her husband killed him three months after they reconciled and reunited in their house at the Oko-Oba area of Oyo town.

Osifeso said, “On 17/11/2022 at about 0350hrs, one Ismaila Tijani reported at Dubar Divisional Police Headquarters that at about 0223hrs of 16/11/2022, his son, named Olamilekan Salahudeen, aged 35, was stabbed to death with a knife by his wife, Odunayo.

“He said Odunayo made a move to have sexual intercourse with his wife but she rejected and that this further led to a struggle where Odunayo collected and smashed his wife’s phone and in retaliation she stabbed him on the chest which led to his death.”

Osifeso added that the suspect had since confessed to the crime.

The suspect declined comment when asked by journalists to talk about the incident.
