The director-general of the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS), Prof Abubakar O. Sulaiman, has been reappointed for another four-year term by the president of the Senate and chairman of the institute’s Governing Council, Senator Ahmad Lawan.

The reappointment was conveyed in a statement signed by the deputy director, Information, Communication and Protocol of the NILDS, Mrs Joke Akinsanmi.

According to the statement, the reappointment was approved by the president of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, in consultation with the Speaker of the House of Representatives and alternate chairman of the Governing Council of the NILDS, Femi Gbajabiamila.

The reappointment of Prof Sulaiman will take effect from May 28, 2023.

The president of the Senate and the Speaker of the House have congratulated the director-general on his reappointment, urging him to continue working towards achieving the core objectives of the institute as outlined in sections 2 and 3 of the institute’s act (as amended).
