Man Utd yank off Ronaldo’s poster at Old Trafford

“I don’t have respect for him because he doesn’t show respect for me. If you don’t have respect for me, I’m never gonna have respect for you,” Ronaldo had said of Ten Hag.

However, reacting to the development, the club in a statement via its website said: “Manchester United notes the media coverage regarding an interview by Cristiano Ronaldo.

“The club will consider its response after the full facts have been established. Our focus remains on preparing for the second half of the season and continuing the momentum, belief and togetherness being built among the players, manager, staff, and fans.”

Few days after this statement, Ronaldo’s giant-size poster was pulled down at Old Trafford.

However, two days to Ronaldo’s first outing at Qatar 2022, where his country will take on Ghana, Man United announced that it had released the forward.

“Cristiano Ronaldo is to leave Manchester United by mutual agreement, with immediate effect.”

“The club thanks him for his immense contribution across two spells at Old Trafford, scoring 145 goals in 346 appearances, and wishes him and his family well for the future.

“Everyone at Manchester United remains focused on continuing the team’s progress under Erik ten Hag and working together to deliver success on the pitch,” a club statement read.
