The immediate past Bauchi State Deputy Governor Senator Baba Tela was absent from the venue of swearing-in of his principal, Governor Bala Mohammed, for second term.

Daily Trust had reported that Tela was dropped as running mate of Governor Mohammed and replaced by the member Representing Zaki Federal Constituency, Hon Auwal Jatau.

Our correspondent who was at the venue of the inauguration at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium observed that the seat reserved for the outgone deputy governor was empty due to his absence at the event.

Shortly before he desolved his cabinet on Thursday, the governor he did not have any issues with his former deputy.

He said, “Certainly, I don’t have any qualms with him (Tela), he is my brother even before we came here, he had been a friend. Nobody should go with the impression that we are not together, it is just the issue of political permutations and so on and so forth.

“This cabinet is the engine room of the administration, my deputy is here, even though I am not going with him for the second term but he is part and parcel of my administration because we are there in the same political party but it was permutations that left him out of the system.”
