Sierra Leone’s year-on-year inflation up by 0.38 percent in August

APA-Freetown- Sierra Leone’ s year-on-year inflation stood at 10.88% in August, up from 10.50% in July, according to Statistics Sierra Leone’ s press release on Thursday. The prices of transport, alcoholic beverages, tobacco and narcotic, housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels, restaurant and hotels, and recreation and culture increased over the period.

The prices of transport (9.25%), alcoholic beverages, tobacco and narcotic (4.69%), housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (2.97%), restaurant and hotels (1.25%), and recreation and culture (0.97%) increased over the period.

However, prices of food and non-alcoholic beverage (0.52%), furniture, household equipment (1.37%), health (0.21%), clothing and footwear (0.03%), communication (2.46%), and miscellaneous goods and services (1.73%) declined in August.
