Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) and other high-level government officials have accorded each a warm welcome at Bole International Airport, here in Addis.

It is recalled that the ruling Prosperity Party led by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed won the election and is set to establish a new Government Monday October 4, 2021.

Prosperity Party was established a few years ago after the former ruling Coalition – Ethiopian People’s Revolutionary Democratic Front (EPRDF) was overwhelmed by popular protest that led to the resignation of the former Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn.

Following his resignation and election of Abiy Ahmed as Prime Minister, three of the four members of EPRDF had transformed EPRDF into a Prosperity Party, which has launched major economic, political reforms.

Leaders of opposition political parties are expected to hold key ministerial positions in the new government including Professor Berhanu Nega, Chairman of the Ethiopian Citizens for Social Justice Party.
